Can you help?

Please consider helping us in one or more of the following ways:

Committee Members

Committee members: Are you interested to join the committee? Or do you know someone who could be invited to join? It doesn't matter if you can't attend the AGM so long as you are willing to join us for the business meetings. The committee meets six times a year, plans the courses, and shares out the tasks to get the courses under way. Committee tasks include:

• word processing and printing brochures, flyers, posters, programmes and tickets
• mailing and distribution of publicity
• updating the family address and players database
• preparing agendas and minutes for the committee
• organising room hire and liaison with venues
• liaison with music director and tutors
• processing applications
• liaising with parent volunteers
• website design and management
• public relations and communication with the media
• stage management
• front of house management
• corporate fundraising

In addition, committee members are trustees of the CHOA charitable trust.

You can probably recognise one or two tasks that you could take on with some guidance. So why not offer to join us? The larger the committee, the less the work will fall on any one member. Holiday Orchestra needs you!

Volunteers

Volunteers to help during the courses:

We need lots more volunteers to help with various simple but necessary tasks while the courses are under way

• registration desk (½ hour at the start of each session)
• support for choir tutor (1¼ hours late morning)
• lunchtime supervision (1 hour)
• stewarding at the concerts

Sponsorship

One parent recently approached his firm and secured a donation of £500. Are you able to make a similar approach to a business you are connected with? Sponsorship for the hire of West Road Concert Hall could well be an attractive proposition for a business wanting to promote its image by supporting local young musicians. We can supply copies of annual reports and accounts and other background information to help the company understand what Holiday Orchestra does.
